Purdue's Matt Ramos Upsets Iowa's Spencer Lee
At Friday night's NCAA Championships semifinal round, Spencer Lee's quest for a fourth national championship was shockingly ended.
In the final seconds of their semifinal bout at the BOK Center, Purdue's Matt Ramos pinned Iowa's star 125-pounder Lee, a three-time NCAA champion.
This result will go down as one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Wrestling history.
Ramos, a redshirt sophomore for the Boilermakers, had a 4-1 advantage against Lee in the opening frame after throwing Lee to the ground for a takedown and two nearfall points.
