Panthers Sign Veteran WR After Trading D.J. Moore
The Carolina Panthers quietly assembled a strong free-agent class, and on Sunday they acquired an All-Pro wide receiver.
When the Panthers traded D.J. Moore to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the first overall pick in April, they lost their top wide receiver for the year.
With their first selection, the Panthers are predicted to select a quarterback. In 2023, they'll be able to pass to a veteran wide receiver.
The Panthers are preparing to sign former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen to a three-year contract, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The Minnesota Vikings signed undrafted free agent Thielen, 32, in 2013, and he has been a member of the team ever since.
He received All-Pro recognition in 2017 and has been nominated for two Pro Bowls.
During the 2017 NFL season, Thielen contributed to the Vikings' NFC North-winning offence by catching 70 passes for 716 yards and six touchdowns.
