NFL World Reacts To The Controversial Mac Jones News © Image:msn
Ben Volin, the New England beat reporter, published a contentious opinion on Mac Jones, the Patriots' quarterback, on Tuesday.
Due to a severe ankle injury, Jones has missed the previous three games for the Patriots.
Bailey Zappe, a late-round rookie, has won both of his team's games in his first two NFL starts.
Volin thinks that Jones' career trajectory will benefit from Zappe's success.
"Making the Pro Bowl [last year] pumped his head up a lot... this kid needed to be humbled," Volin said, per NBC Sports Boston.
The NFL world took to Twitter to react to this statement.
"Why are we doing this? What purpose does this serve? Can’t we just get good content about Zappe playing well without turning it into this angle?" one analyst asked.
"Ben Volin is an elite level NFL media clown,"another fan said."This isn’t even reporting, this is a ‘grown man’ hating," another added.
Jones has a high chance of playing against the Chicago Bears on Monday after taking part in only a few practises this past week and being rated as doubtful for Sunday's game.
