The departure of veteran cornerback Jourdan Lewis was a severe blow to the Dallas Cowboys secondary.
After sustaining a Lisfranc injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-6 victory over the Lions, Lewis was declared season-ending.
Mike McCarthy commented on Lewis' injury on Monday, saying the DB will be missed.
After having foot surgery on Sunday night, Jourdan Lewis was described by Mike McCarthy as a "keystone" element for the Cowboys and would be missed, according to Todd Arch
“J-Lew is a valued member of our team,” McCarthy said.
In the 10-6 game, Lewis needed assistance going to the sidelines before being carried back to the locker room.
In his career, the former third-round selection has racked up eight interceptions and 8.5 sacks while serving as Dallas' go-to slot corner.
Lewis is committed to the Cowboys through 2023, so ideally he can bounce back even stronger in 2019.
