Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, reveals trade deadline plans © Image:msn
On Sunday, the Cowboys trounced the Lions 24-6 to raise their record to 5-2.
Even though Dallas is only good for third place in the upgraded NFC East with that record,
it is obviously in the running to win the division for the second year in a row and has cemented its position as a prospective bidder before the trade deadline on November 1.
Jerry Jones, the club's owner, does not anticipate his team to strike a deal, though.
“I don’t see that,” Jones said on Sunday (via Jon Machota of The Athletic on Twitter). “I don’t expect a trade.”
Jones joked that if the Cowboys could get a guy of Deion Sanders' quality, he would be "all in," but in reality, he does not see a deal happening in the near week.
Despite Jones' remarks, it is obvious that the Cowboys will conduct their due diligence and make a move if the right player becomes available at the appropriate price.
However, the league's most well-known owner currently does not think it will occur.
