Earthquake confirmed near Sykesville Tuesday night
An earthquake was felt in Central Maryland late Tuesday night.
A small 2.0 earthquake was confirmed near Sykesville in Carroll County around 11:49 p.m.
More than 170 people reported feeling the earthquake
The earthquake occurred about 2.5 miles east-southeast of Sykesville.
According to the USGS its depth was about three miles.
Some people on social media reported feeling the quake near Baltimore and as far as Aspen Hill.
The Maryland Geological Survey says a magnitude 2.1 earthquake struck Clarksville, Maryland last year.
