Cowboys Announce Unfortunate Decision On Rookie Offensive Lineman © Image:msn
The Dallas Cowboys revealed earlier this week that Matt Waletzko, a rookie offensive lineman, will require shoulder surgery.
After he was included in the injury report, this happened.
The Cowboys formally placed Waletzko on injured reserve a few days later. He'll probably miss the remainder of his first season.
Although this is a disappointing setback for Waletzko, at least the injury is not life-threatening.
The Cowboys picked North Dakota's Waletzko in the fifth round of this year's draft.
The Cowboys have acquired Carlos Watkins from the practise squad in place of Waletzko, who is no longer included in the 53-man roster.
The Cowboys' offensive line will still be supported by Tyler Smith, Connor McGovern, Tyler Biadasz, Zack Martin, and Terence Steele despite the loss to Waletzko.
In Dallas, Jason Peters, Josh Ball, and Matt Farniok are regarded as the top backups.
