12 people injured, 1 person dead after car crashes into a Pomona taco stand

One person was killed and 12 others were injured when a motorist entered a grocery store in Pomona on Friday night.

Imi Veldren, a senior dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said firefighters were called to the Holt Avenue and Dudley Street area at 7:43 p.m.

Incoming units found 13 victims, Veldren said. One person was declared dead at the scene, three classified as serious ambulance transport

Seven as delayed ambulance transport and two people refused ambulance transport against medical advice.

Initially, not much information was available about the incident.

A Pomona Police Department official said a guard commander was not available to provide information or answer questions.

Police are probing whether the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
